Laura Brothers: RUBBER EARTH PARFAIT

Laura Brothers generates gifs and jpegs that draw from computer malfunction and generates a complex series of images that emphasizes the gap between the systematic and the organic and chaotic. Brothers, working under the posting guise of out_4_pizza, posts her work regularly on the now-antiquated LiveJournal platform, on which the scrolling motion of viewing the work creates an interference pattern, activating her imagery with a flickering effect that accentuates her bitmapped language.  For her series featured on KLAUSGALLERY.net, entitled RUBBER EARTH PARFAIT, she invokes these tendencies, balancing her disjunctures in the pixel-based medium with playful textures and the illusion of dimension.
